Since 1998, DTU has invited prominent foreign researchers twice a year to lecture on their work, research results and perspectives in their research area at the so-called Ørsted Lectures. Lectures are thought to be a special opportunity for researchers, students and alumni and other interested people to be inspired by some of the world's sharpest brains in fields, which are also studied at DTU. The researchers invited to lecture at an Ørsted Lecture are selected both because of their prominent position within their field of research and their ability to communicate their professional enthusiasm and insight into a wider circle.
