Today's applications are increasingly mobile. Computers are no longer confined to desks and laps but instead live in our pockets and hands. This course teaches students how to build mobile apps for iOS, one of today's most popular platforms. Students learn to write native and web apps for iPhones, iPod touches, and iPads using Xcode and the iOS SDK.

The purpose of this course is to acquaint the students with some basic concepts in linear algebra and matrix analysis, which are most useful in applications. We will cover(1) the unitary-equivalence, similarity and congruence invariants of finite square matrices, (2) spectral properties of finite matrices, (3) Perron-Frobenius theory of nonnegative matrices, and numerical ranges of finite matrices.

本課程是由交通大學建築研究所提供。
本課程主要目的是從都市設計專業角度，剖析在全球化影響下的都市環境發展策略、都市設計工作之相關課題；並以世界各國以及台灣都­市設計實質作業實例之制度面、策略面之比較分析，以及台灣南北各城市都市設計與開發之具體案例對照性分析，介紹都市設計工作之功­能、定位與實施內容。
並藉由都市設計規劃設計與管理實例解析，引伸探討城市發展規劃設計理念，尤其從台灣與國外既有實質環境的形式結果，剖析環境成型­過程其背後隱藏性的影響因素，並基於都市設計觀之環境價值論點加以討論，歸納都市設計的理論基礎與專業實務工作之間的內涵對照。
更闡述有關都市設計程序運作與工具應用，包含：政府部門、學術社群、民間社區所展開之作為以及都市發展的開發與再開發之事業企劃­策略、市民參與機制、社區規劃與設計、都市計畫與設計、開發許可與都市設計審議作業等工作內容；俾以供研修本課程之學生，能深入­瞭解都市設計之公共政策與政策工具，以及機制操作之關鍵性技術。
以及從歷史脈絡演繹介紹近代都市設計思潮的發展，並歸納分析近代都市設計理論的種類以及各種理論對都市設計專業之影響；進而對於­都市設計發展的新典範所提倡之論述加以解析詮釋，俾以供研修本課程之學生，對於都市設計觀念、思潮演進以及理論形成有完整的認知­。授課教師：人文社會學系 林欽榮老師

Group theory provides a systematic mathematical method for describing molecular symmetry. Actually each kind of symmetry corresponds to one of conservation law that is experimentally observable. Language is a coding system. The formal devices used to code information are most relevant to syntax and morphology. This class is designed to explore the central roles played by syntax and morphology in human languages and to introduce the form-function association as realized in the so-called 'grammatical rules.' Class lectures will focus on the English grammar and problems in Mandarin will be discussed as group project topics.

This course is designed to give a general survey of current syntactic theories, with a special emphasis on functional approaches to grammar. It aims to explore the differences between 'formal'and 'functional' paradigms for syntactic analysis, with a thorough discussion of their 1) theoretical premises, 2) research concerns, 3) data collection 4) analytical methodology, and 5) explanatory principles. The first half of the class will focus on form-function associations as manifested in the English grammar. The second half will then introduce a variety of functional explanatory mechanisms with illustrations from a wide range of languages. The ultimate goal of this class is to familiarize students with contemporary syntactic theories that take grammar as coding devices for coherent communication.
