The Bench to Bedside series is intended to introduce graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to opportunities and challenges in research into major human health related disorders. It also provides medical students and clinicians with an introduction to cutting-edge disease oriented research. Most talks pair clinical and basic science investigators who describe an important medical problem and the contributions of science to diagnosis, treatment and/or cure. This series was directed by Dr. Louis Reichardt and produced with funding from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine.
