Jo Dunkley: Our window on the Universe - Rosalind Franklin Lecture 2016
source: The Royal Society 2016年11月24日
The night sky is fascinating to humans, giving us a window on space beyond our home on Earth. In this lecture, Professor Dunkley described how we have come to better understand our Universe, and some of the big questions about space and time that we are trying to answer. She talked about her research in this area, studying distant light coming from the earliest moments in time, in a quest to understand the Big Bang, the ingredients of the Universe, and the fundamental laws of nature.
Professor Dunkley also talked about the goal of engaging more young women to pursue physics, and about some of the scientists who have inspired and guided her.
The lecture was recorded on November 17 2016 at the Royal Society. For more events like this, see our schedule - http://ow.ly/KhTi306gTN1
