Mathew Shurka was 16 years old when he was forced to endure five years of so-called "conversion therapy" for coming out to his father as gay.
Now 28 and proudly out, Mathew has become a leading national advocate for banning the destructive practice of LGBT “conversion therapy”. Mathew is joined for this exclusive talk at Google by his mother, Jane Shurka, a former supporter of conversion therapy (now advocate for ending the practice), as well as his former bully, Sam Miner, to speak about their experiences.
