本課程將從原子模型及量子力學的觀點出發去探討探索化學變化的基本理論，包括微觀的元素或分子的特性與其原子或分子軌域的關連。接著從微觀的元素或分子的特性再加上熱力學定律，去解釋巨觀中物質的三態及熱平衡現象。本課程希望同學在學習後能墊定扎實的化學基礎。
